Missions & Service

The words and works of Jesus Christ changed forever the way the world would view the sick and downtrodden: in a society that cast out the diseased and imperfect, Jesus lifted them up and made them his greatest mission.

A guiding principal of Clayton Presbyterian Church (CPC) is our desire to impact the community through the love of Christ. Our commitment to missions runs deep, with special church-wide projects each month and an emphasis on missions work in our children's programs.

We've adopted three local organizations on which to focus the majority of our mission efforts:

Clayton Area Ministries (CAM) is a local ministry that offers food and financial assistance to the needy. We collect non-perishable food items on an ongoing basis, in addition to organizing special fundraising events that benefit CAM, such as the SuperBowl of Caring and others.

Harbor, Inc. is a Johnston County organization that offers shelter and a transitional home for women who are victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children. We collect food and household items for Harbor, Inc. For more information about the organization and ways you can help, visit www.harborshelter.org.

House of Hope is a Christian therapeutic school, home and counseling center for hurting and troubled girls, ages 12-17, located in Clayton. CPC collects food and household items for the home. To learn more about House of Hope and how you can help, go to www.houseofhopeofnc.com.

In addition, Clayton Presbyterian Church also pursues other projects at certain times of the year, such as back-to-school backpacks and Angel Tree gifts to support local families in need. We've also hosted Operation Sharehouse, a mobile unit that allows families and kids age five and older to assemble food packets for famine relief.

We're always in need of volunteers to help with our mission work. We encourage you to get involved and see what God can do through your hands.
